IP PBX Phone Systems

IP PBX systems provide audio, video, and instant messaging services through TCP/IP protocol for the internal communication in an organization. The internal network can also be connected to the PSTN for telephone communication. IP PBX can exist both as a hardware system and virtually, as a software system.

IP PBX systems help reduce the expenses for long distance communication; they also provide a single network for both voice and data and advanced computer telephony integration (CTI) features, greater mobility and increased redundancy.

Fully featured IP PBX systems are available for SMBs, supporting up to 30 users as well as for enterprises, supporting 30 to 300 users and over 80 concurrent calls. IP PBX systems also have ports for FXO, FXS, GSM, UMTS, ISDN BRI connectivity, with embedded E1/T1/J1 ports. Hybrid IP PBX systems are also available that offer ISDN, BRI and PSTN connectivity.

Gateways

VoIP Gateways are protocol converters used in VoIP, to bridge the gap between the E1/T1/J1 and VoIP networks. Gateways are generally single port, offering two-way communication that supports both VoIP to E1/T1/J1 and E1/T1/J1 to VoIP.

Typically, gateways have interfaces to IP network as well as PSTN. There are a number of ways to configure VoIP gateways, including

  • A PBX system with external connection through VoIP via the Internet
  • A PSTN interface to a telephone network, with internal connection to a VoIP system
  • External PSTN and VoIP interfaces

SMBs can enjoy inexpensive communication via SIP trunking. Easy to navigate GUI, easy installation and integration and less power consumption features are available in several gateways.

GSM Gateways

VoIP GSM gateways (also referred to as GoIP gateways) allow two-way communications between IP, digital, analog and GSM networks. With GSM gateways, you can make cost-effective phone calls from an IP phone to a GSM network through Least Cost Routing (LCR). Through LCR, the gateways identify the most cost-effective connection based on the information stored in the internal routing table. GSM gateways are particularly useful for businesses to reduce their call costs on IP to GSM.

GoIP gateways allow individual connections to the IP PBX network, and offer the advantages of mobility and scalability, along with cost savings.

FXS Gateways

FXS gateways allow your analog phones or fax machines to connect to the IP network for making VoIP phone calls. FXS gateways bridge the gap between IP network and the PSTN network, so that you can use your existing traditional phones to access the low cost VoIP telephony services.

FXS gateways are a cost-effective solution to achieve extended returns from your analog phones to make cheaper phone calls.
